Trauma (PTSD)

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric illness that people may develop following a traumatic event, such as rape, assault, physical abuse, emotional abuse, war, bombing, shooting, violence, bullying, and other incidents. Some of the symptoms people may experience are Flashbacks, nightmares, anger, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, avoidance, substance abuse, and/or intrusive thoughts. Children can also develop these symptoms.  PTSD can be cured completely with the right treatment and the right professional.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of psychotherapy that treats emotional symptoms caused by trauma.
